I'm going to be making one long post here about Starcraft 2.

Check it out a Terran Marine, these guys can be deadly as heck especially once they have Stim Pack and increased health!
Ooo a Zerg mutalisk, very scary! One of the fastest flyers in the game, can attack multiple targets with its bounce attack!
Last but not least a Protoss Zealot. A very deadly unit they can build almost instantly that will rip up a Marine in close combat in seconds!
That is one unit from each race. If your picking a race just go with the one that looks coolest to you and switch up everytime you get annoyed.
Watch replays of the pros to get an idea of what you should be trying to do. Practice, practice, and practice some more. Don't worry that you can't scout and build, or fight and build, or even fight well yet. All these skills come with time.
I suggest purchasing a Starcraft 2 strategy guide because they will really help shorten your learning curve, and they are dirt cheap.
